METHOD FOR IMPROVING THE EFFICIENCY OF THE PROCEDURE OF CHANGING MEASUREMENT DATA BIT DEPTH

The paper examines the influence of the method of encoding measurement data on the effectiveness of the method of preprocessing data before compression, based on a change of the data bit depth. The estimation of the efficiency is based on the analysis of the values of the autocorrelation function calculated from the transformed data. It is shown that the use of Gray's code significantly increases the estimate for all data sets considered.
